Individual Rule Book Study
- Once you have registered and paid your registration fee the TSSAA will send you the latest National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Rule Book, Case Study Book and when the Officials Mechanics Rule Books are updated you will receive one of these as well. These are where you can learn the rules, terminology and mechanics of High School Football Officiating.
Scrimmages
- High Schools and Middle Schools will have spring and pre-season Scrimmages. Once you have registered the BCFOA Scrimmage Coordinator will contact you to attend a scrimmage and pair you with a knowledgeable veteran official to help you apply the rules, terminology and mechanics by having you shadow them in the scrimmage.
Rules interpretation meetings
- TSSAA has a mandatory rules interpretation meeting held prior to the season at Hardin Valley Academy (HVA). This meeting will cover new rules interpretations for the upcoming season as well as mechanics updates.
- BCFOA will have weekly meetings at Maryville High School on Wedneday's at 6:00 pm where the Supervisor will cover both new and existing rules and mechanics as well as game review. The weekly meetings will change over to bi-weekly halfway through the season. Meeting dates/times are updated on the Scheduled Events tab on this website.
Mentorship
- Veteran Officials are always happy to answer questions and provide feedback to incoming officials in the association.
